About the author


Jack Carlson is a three-time member of the United States national rowing team and won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships. In 2013, Jack won the Henley Royal Regatta, the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, and the Head of the Charles Regatta. Jack holds a doctorate in archaeology from Oxford University.

F.E. Castleberry is a fashion photographer, former concept director at Rugby Ralph Lauren, and editor of the blog Unabashedly Prep. His photographs have appeared in GQThe Rake, and Town & Country.

Urša Mali is a photographer and visual anthropologist with degrees from Oxford and Cambridge. She has taught photography in Chandigarh, India, and served as photography editor for Cherwell.


Adrian Krajewski is an Oxford-based photographer and musician. As an avid kayaker, he routinely battles college crews for right-of-way on Oxfordshire's waterways.
